St. Joe has undertaken 22 projects, spent more than
$100 million, since Hurricane Michael
PANAMA CITY BEACH — With rays of sunlight shining through gloomy skies, construction crews worked Tuesday to add the finishing touches to phase 2 of Pier Park Crossings Apartments.
Located off Pier Park Drive, the complex is one of many developments spearheaded by the St. Joe Company since Hurricane Michael made landfall more than two years ago.
Since the Category 5 storm steamrolled the Panhandle, the company, which owns more than 100,000 acres in Bay County, has spent more than $100 million on developments to help in the community's recovery. That includes 11 completed projects and 11 others in development or under construction.
Mike Kerrigan, spokesman for St. Joe, dubbed Pier Park Crossings Apartments as one of the company's most successful projects in recent years. The first 240 units began filling up with tenants almost instantly after they opened in 2019. The second phase of construction will add 120 units.
